2. Connection Design and Interface Standards
Type A: Male camlock adapter x female pipe thread. The adapter has a male nose, annular cam-locking groove and sealing-contact face; the opposite end accepts a matching male threaded pipe, valve or equipment connection.
Cam-and-Groove References: A-A-59326 (formerly MIL-C-27487); EN 14420-7 / DIN 2828 for applicable interface designs. The Type A body has no cam arms or captive main camlock gasket.
3. Brass Body Materials and Manufacturing
Body: Industrial brass alloy, selected for machinability, corrosion resistance and suitable fluid compatibility. Manufacturing methods include brass casting, forging or CNC machining according to size, geometry and production requirements.
Material options may include specified copper-zinc alloy grades with composition verification and material certification. Brass is not automatically suitable for every chemical, ammonia-containing medium or potable-water application.
4. Female Pipe Thread Options
BSPP Female (G): ISO 228-1 parallel pipe thread.
BSPT Female (Rc): ISO 7-1 taper-thread sealing connection.
NPT Female: ASME B1.20.1 tapered pipe thread.
Thread selection follows the mating male fitting, sealing method and regional market. Thread gauge inspection covers pitch, engagement, alignment and machined entry features. Matching-size and reducing-thread configurations may be developed.
5. Mating Camlock Couplers and Sealing
Compatible Female Couplers: Type B (male thread), Type C (hose shank) and Type D (female thread), with matching camlock interface dimensions. Type DC female dust caps protect the male adapter when disconnected.
The female coupler carries two cam arms and a replaceable face gasket, commonly NBR, EPDM, FKM or silicone. Cam-arm engagement draws the adapter face against this gasket. A separate thread seal is selected for the female-thread connection.
6. Working Conditions and Fluid Compatibility
Service: Connection of compatible industrial liquid-transfer lines, hose assemblies, pumps, tanks and threaded equipment.
Working pressure and temperature depend on nominal size, brass alloy, wall geometry, mating coupler, gasket, thread seal and fluid. Select the assembly using its lowest-rated component. Brass alloy compatibility and local regulatory requirements are important for aggressive fluids and drinking-water service.

Controlled Dimensions: Camlock nose outside diameter, insertion length, groove width/depth, sealing-face profile, female thread size/depth, flow bore, wall thickness and overall length.
Finish: Natural machined brass, cleaned surfaces and deburred edges. Optional polishing, identification marking and protective packaging can support OEM requests. Smooth gasket-contact surfaces help achieve consistent mating.
8. Quality Inspection and Functional Testing
Quality Management: ISO 9001:2015.
Inspection Items: Brass grade, casting/forging condition, CNC dimensions, cam groove, thread gauges, sealing face, surface defects and cleanliness.
Functional Checks: Female-coupler fit, cam-lever locking action, repeatable assembly/disassembly and specified pressure or leakage testing on the complete matched assembly. Material certificates and dimensional reports can be provided by agreement.
