Standard Type A Connection Geometry Type A combines a male camlock adapter nose and a female threaded port. It has no cam arms. Its annular groove engages the levers of a matching Type B, C or D female coupler. Dimensions reference A-A-59326 (formerly MIL-C-27487) and EN 14420-7 / DIN 2828, as applicable. 3. BSP and NPT Female Thread Choices BSPP (G), BSPT (Rc) and NPT female thread options support different regional installation requirements. Two Separate Sealing Interfaces At the camlock interface, the adapter face seals against a gasket installed inside the matching female coupler; Type A itself normally contains no main gasket. Lightweight Cast Aluminum Construction Cast aluminum alloy reduces component weight and supports handling of larger transfer connections. Precision CNC machining is used for female pipe threads, cam grooves, bores and sealing-contact areas. Natural aluminum is the typical finish; identification marks or other finishes may be specified for OEM orders. 7. Pressure, Temperature and Size Engineering Working pressure varies with nominal size, casting design, mating coupler, gasket and temperature; no single rating applies across 1/2"–8". Check pressure limits for each SKU and assembly. Camlock connections are generally used for compatible liquid transfer rather than steam or compressed-gas service. 8.
